Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

I made this dress in my first year of my Bachelors of Arts degree, as part of my first major construction module.

It is a 1840s bodice and skirt made from 8 metres of 100% cotton fabric, with button fastenings down the centre front placket.

I also made a pink cotton apron which was gathered onto a waistband that ties at the back. I also made two long white petticoats for underneath this dress to create the iconic hourglass 1840s silhouette.
